The Book of Ephesians is powerful! Right up front, Paul gives praise to God who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing through Christ. He explains how we were chosen before the foundation of the world to be Holy and blameless {set apart, pure} in the sight of Jesus. He speaks about the Love of God and how God made a way for us to be adopted into sonship through Christ Jesus for His own pleasure, freely giving us grace to survive in this lifetime.

Not only has God poured his grace upon us, but Jesus regained possession of us through His Blood {forgiving us from sin} protecting us as He claims us for the Kingdom of God. Paul goes even further to say God, in all of His wisdom and understanding, shares with us the mystery of His perfect plan {salvation} in Christ to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth in its perfect timing.

Do you understand why we are truly blessed? God adopted us into sonship through His Only Begotten Son; choosing us before the earth was created; He legally assumed a position as a Father, raising us up as His own; accepting us “As Is” {for who we are} giving us every tool {spiritual blessing} that we need to return back to Him.

In love, He freely pours out His grace, claiming us as sons and daughters; redeeming us through His blood, which covers and protects us from the enemy; making known to us as Children, His perfect plan for our lives.

Paul shares when we believed by hearing the truth of the gospel of our salvation, we were marked in Christ with a seal, {the promised Holy spirit who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance}. He speaks to the church of Ephesus saying “ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”

Paul explains “That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Can you see why Paul praised God from the beginning? Do you understand why he honors Jesus Christ in His fullness? We are blessed, truly blessed by the Father in His Perfect Will for our lives.

Ephesians 2: 11-13-11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
